Tate & Lyle: Maximizing Supply Chain Efficiency With Oracle Transportation Management Cloud
Tate & Lyle plc is a British multinational agribusiness that started operations as a sugar refining business, and from the 1970s began diversification into specialty foods. Today, Tate & Lyle specializes in using innovative technology to turn raw materials into ingredients that add taste, texture, nutrients and increased functionality to food and beverages. The Tate & Lyle business is made up of two units: Specialty Food Ingredients and Bulk Ingredients, with a global network of support services structured around three clear areas: Innovation, Commercial Development and Global Operations. The organization is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
Accelalpha implemented a centralized TMS solution which integrated with SAP. Our new solution helped Tate & Lyle increase on-time delivery and reduce cost by using contracted rates (instead of spot rates) and through low cost carrier selection. Tate & Lyle was also able to significantly minimize transportation invoice overpayments through an automated match/pay process. The TMS Solution had EDI Enabled via. Justransform.
Accelalpha was able to address multiple logistical challenges faced by Tate & Lyle:

Oracle modules that were implemented included Oracle Transportation Management Cloud, Operational Planning and Freight Settlement. Additionally, the solution was also integrated with SAP Order Management and SAP Account Payables.
