The Company

With over eighty physical store locations for product pickups throughout Chile, ABCDIN is an E-Commerce retail chain specializing in selling home products. The housewares and electronics retailer was founded in the 1950s and is currently known for having the most extensive store coverage across the country.

 

They have evolved into a Click and Collect retailer where the digital and physical shopping experience has been blended so that the purchase takes place online and ends with the customer picking up the order at one of their physical stores. ABCDIN's holding company, AD Retail, ensures that the logistics and handling operations are supported with automated processes that include micro shuttles, carton sorters, & put to light stations.

The Challenge

With the surge in the popularity of the buy online, collect in store shopping experience during the pandemic, ABCDIN recognized that they needed to implement a click & collect service within their E-Commerce platform to keep up with demand. ABCDIN chose Oracle WMS as the best solution to help them streamline store inventory management and the delivery capabilities needed to provide products to their eighty stores.

 

The Solution

ABCDIN selected Accelalpha to implement Oracle WMS Cloud based on their experience and knowledge of the product. Specifically, Accelalpha had the administration expertise for the Oracle WMS tool that was needed to make the implementation successful. Because of their experience with retail store logistics processes and legacy systems, the Accelalpha team was able to deliver benefits to ABCDIN from the first week of operation.

 

The Results

Oracle WMS Cloud provides an intuitive, scalable, and flexible solutions that meets ABCDIN's needs. Growth in the volume of warehouse withdrawals and the number of delivery locations has increased and is now up to five times the amount that is generated during the peak online shopping seasons. Within the first month the Oracle WMS Cloud solution supported the new service in forty stores (50% of the chain) with delivery to all eighty branches demonstrating successful, centralized channel management.
